It is important that you advise the Intake Counselor of all medications you are currently taking. Include the name of the medication, the dosage and frequency administered, as well as the name of the physician who prescribed the medication. Please bring a 30-day supply of medications prescribed and/or authorized by a physician in the appropriately labeled bottle. Controlled substances will be destroyed, except with a written order by your Medical Provider and/or Physician. Each client will be responsible for the administration of his or her prescribed medications however we do provide for the safe storage of medications. Please do not bring over-the-counter medications (i.e., Advil, Tylenol, etc.), vitamins, herbs, or nutritional supplements unless authorized by a physician. All over the counter medications must have Staff approval prior to the consumer taking any medication.
HUGS Recovery Centers are SMOKE FREE facilities. However, for those who do smoke, there are certain limited designated areas, outside only, where smoking is permitted.
Clients may have scheduled visitation after they have met with their primary therapist and appropriate visitors have been authorized and scheduled. Visitors are required to follow the guidelines for appropriate attire. Guests are asked to not bring any food, candy, soda, gifts, magazines, etc. to any client without the Counselors’ permission, and all packages will be checked by a staff member. In order to ensure confidentiality, cameras and picture-taking are not permitted on the grounds of HUGS Recovery Centers.
In order to ensure a therapeutic environment, clients are encouraged to make phone calls only after the first 5-days of treatment. Upon admission, clients are allowed to call a significant other person to advise them of their safe arrival.
Telephones are available during certain hours each day in the main office.
